Draft 14 – Touki Toussaint, Luis Ortiz, Sam Travis, Jacob Gatewood, Derek Hill

B/R – 11-21-13 - B/R – 11-21-13 - 22. Texas Rangers: Touki Toussaint, RHP, Coral Springs Christian HS (Fla.) - A well-known commodity in the scouting community, Touki Toussaint has been on the radar for the last two seasons thanks to a fastball that sits in the low-to-mid-90s and has bumped 97 in the past. The 6’3”, 185-pound right-hander’s curveball ranks as one of the best in the class, as he throws the pitch in the low-70s with exceptional depth and a sharp, two-plane break that induces whiffs. Toussaint is also one of the younger hurlers in the 2014 class, as he doesn’t turn 18 until after the June draft. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1860341-2014-mlb-mock-draft-early-first-round-projections-for-all-30-teams/page/10

During the 2013 season the 6’0” infielder batted an impressive .316 and ranked second in the Big Ten with 22 doubles, 57 RBI, 10 homeruns, 133 total bases and 39 walks. Travis earned a Second Team All-Big Ten selection and helped lead the Hoosiers to their first College World Series appearance in program history. Along the way the third baseman earned Most Outstanding Player awards at both the Big Ten Tournament and the NCAA Bloomington Regional. The Orland Park, Ill native attended Providence Catholic where he was named the Illinois Player of the Year by the Chicago Tribune. The powerful right-hander put up huge numbers as a senior batting .504 with 17 homeruns, 75 RBI and a slugging percentage of 1.023. After finishing just short of a Providence High School Class 4A Illinois State Championship, Travis was drafted in the 40th round of the 2011 MLB Draft. http://ht.ly/2BNjXc

a little bit of a head case though

Dare I say he reminds me of Gooden. He has alot of upside too.But I don't want a headcase if those ideas are acurate.

well, he's young... and cocky... and highly protected by his mother.

Let's give him some time to grow up.

The raw talent it there but there is so much pitching talent in this draft in the first round, you don't have to go here if you don't want to
