GCL Mets (29-25) @ GCL Nationals (25-28) suspended with score 2-0 due to injury.
GCL Mets’ first baseman, Manuel Hilario collided with GCL Nationals second baseman Younaifred Aguero while trying to break up a double play in the bottom of the fourth inning of the Gulf Coast League game. According to an eyewitness, the 22-year-old Hilario hit his head on Aguero and then again on the ground, leaving him unconscious for about 10 minutes. The collision at second base apparently sent Hilario into a seizure, and the game was suspended due to the apparent seriousness of the injury. The Mets subsequently released a statement Friday evening that indicated that a CT scan appeared to be normal and that Hilario could be released as soon as Saturday.
