Burgamy Named Postseason All-Star

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Binghamton Mets are proud to announce Brian Burgamy has been named to the 2014 Eastern League Postseason All-Star Team. The veteran infielder, who has spent time at third base, second base and first base this season, was regarded as the top utility player in the league.

Burgamy’s selection adds another highlight to his emphatic return to affiliated baseball. After spending the last five years playing in a collection of independent leagues, the B-Mets versatile infielder has made the most of his first Double-A season since 2007. The 33-year-old sits second in the league with 23 home runs and ranks third with 75 RBI.

The Lawton, Oklahoma native has saved his best since representing the B-Mets at the 2014 Eastern League All-Star Stop. In 31 games since the break, he has compiled a .324 batting average and led the B-Mets with eight home runs and 22 RBI.
