TRADE - IF - Dee Gordon

The Dodgers have reportedly traded infielder Dee Gordon and pitcher Dan Haren – he of the $10 million salary in 2015, and who has said he would retire if he’s traded – to the Marlins for one of the best pitching prospects in the game, Andrew Heaney (consensus top 30 type), as well as second baseman Enrique Hernandez, righty Chris Hatcher and catcher Austin Barnes

Sounds like a good trade for the Dodgers. They dump salary. They acquire a top notch team controlled pitcher, and they apparently already have dee Gordon replacement in the minors anyway.

So Marlins are going to try to win in the near term to pump value for a sale - their owner is an assistant of epic proportions

I hope Haren retires

This trade makes no sense for the Marlins. Yes they add speed but Gordon has poor OBP skills and is BABIP dependent.

He had a total of 4 walks in the 2nd half of the season.....4!!

He's a solid #8 hitter at best.
