Luis Guevara, an
infielder in the Baltimore Orioles’ minor league system, has died after being
involved in a jet ski accident Sunday near Lido Key in Sarasota, FL, the team
said Wednesday morning. He was 19.

Sources tell me Chacoa was expected to sign for more than
$2 million.
Typical league protocol is to suspend the player for one
year.

Why cant we renegotiate with 3B Josue Chacoa... it not like we can say lets get the higher rated guy... those are committed... I am sure he still has the same talent we thought he had even if he is 1 2 or 3 years older

I think that player was Raymel Ortiz, SS, MLB Pipeline's #26 ranked prospect that year. Don't know if he ever signed with another team.
Ortiz has not signed with another team , and is playing in a semi pro league in the D.R.
Mets very well could , but rumors are his stuff has backed up and isn’t the same prospect who got the $2.7M- $2.3-$2M bonus
Then, you do sign an Elian Peña for $5 million….everyone anticipates Thunder…but he Srar ts out 2 for 40, with 6 walks. While low bonus Josmir Reyesis hitting nearly .500 with one K in 37 PAs.
