Mike Puma NY Post: Putrid infield strikes again as Mets waste deGrom’s gem. "On Friday, disaster struck the Mets in the eighth inning, after Wilmer Flores made a late throw to first base with a drawn-in infield. The Mets never recovered and lost their third straight, 2-1 to the Braves at Turner Field.  Jacob deGrom had a brilliant night’s work flushed when Jace Peterson slammed a two-run double over Juan Lagares’ head in center field to give the Braves the lead. The hit came against lefty Sean Gilmartin, but the runs were charged to deGrom, who deserved better...Michael Cuddyer’s RBI single in the sixth gave the Mets a 1-0 lead. Tejada opened the inning with a double before Cuddyer delivered a chopper over third base for his 24th RBI of the season.

Nationals beat Pittsburgh 4-1 to move a half game behind the 1st place Mets.
