TODAY’S GAME:
Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Columbus Clippers in the first game of a four-game set from Huntington Park (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons are looking to snap a five-game losing skid after getting swept for four games in Toledo to begin this eight-game roadtrip. After the series, the Herd returns home to Coca-Cola Field to open up a nine-game homestand against Rochester and Lehigh Valley. vs.
THE CLIPPERS:
The Bisons are 2-2 against Columbus thus far in 2009. The teams split a four-game series back at Coca-Cola Field, May 21-24, with Columbus taking the first two games and Buffalo winning the last two contests. Since returning to the IL in 1998, the Bisons hold a 48-44 (.522) advantage over the Clippers. Buffalo was 21-23 at Cooper Stadium.
TOBI TIME:
RHP Tobi Stoner gets the call on the mound for the Bisons tonight. Stoner has been an innings-eater of late, averaging seven innings pitched over his last five starts. However, his 2-3 record over that stretch isn’t indicative of how well he’s pitched (3.60ERA) compared to his first four starts where the Triple-A rookie averaged just five innings/start and had a 5.75ERA.
ROAD SWEET ROAD:
INF/OF Nick Evans continues to prefer life away from home. The slugger enters tonight with a 13-game road hit streak. Over a stretch that began July 12, Evans has averaged .321 (17-53) away from Coca-Cola Field with nine extra-base hits (6 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run). It’s the longest active road hit streak in the IL and five games behind Syracuse’s Jorge Padilla (18G) for the longest streak in the IL this season.
ROSTER MOVES:
C Robinson Cancel and LHP Pat Misch rejoin the Bisons from today after their big league promotions. Cancel was 0-1 in one game for New York while Misch posted a 2.51ERA in 13 appearances out of the pen for the Mets (14.1IP, 9K).

Mack, with the big club in need of arms- do you think Tobi Stoner is ready for a cup of coffee in NY, or does he need more seasoning in the minors?
