TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the first game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Park (6:35 p.m.). The Herd is coming off a 6-2 homestand with series wins against Norfolk and Charlotte. This series is the four road games in a stretch where the Bisons play 16 of 20 at home, May 14-June 3. The Herd is 9-11 on the road this season.

vs. THE IRONPIGS: This is the first matchup between the IL North division rivals in 2010. Buffalo lost both road series in Lehigh Valley in 2009 and have never won a four-game set at Coca-Cola Park. Overall, the IronPigs hold an 18-14 advantage over the Bisons in their two years of existence.

BEST IN BASEBALL: With 47RBI on the year, INF MIKE HESSMAN is tied with Single-A Lexington INF KODY HINZE for the most RBI in all of baseball. Hessman leads the International League in home runs (14), slugging percentage (.678), extra-base hits (29) and total bases (103). Hessman is also tied for first in runs scored (32) and tied for second in doubles (15).

HIT MACHINE: For the second time this season, OF JESUS FELICIANO has a 10-game hit streak. Since May 12, the outfielder has averaged .436 (17-39) with nine runs scored. Feliciano also hit in 10 straight, April 22 - May 1 (.415, 17-41). His .371 average on the year is 22 points higher than any other player in the International League.

DOUBLE DUTY: INF RUSS ADAMS hit two more doubles last night and now has five two-baggers in his last six games. The infielder has hit in six straight, averaging .423 (11-26) since May 16. The stretch also includes six RBI and six runs scored. Adams has been extremely consistent this year, with a .302 average in 12 April games and a .309 mark in 20 games this month.

CATCHING ON: C JOSH THOLE didn’t play in his six-day stint with the Mets, May 10-15. However, the catcher has been much better at the plate since his return. In his last six games, Thole has hit .333 (7-33) with three doubles and a home run. Thole now has 11 doubles on the season, the second most on the Bisons. Despite a .230 average this season, Thole has hit .321 (9-28) this year with runners in scoring position.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (20-23) selected the contract of RHP ELMER DESSENS yesterday. The reliever led the Bisons with five wins and six saves. Dessens suffered the loss in New York’s 2-1 defeat to the Yankees last night. He allowed two runs (one earned) in 0.2 innings of relief. The Mets had just four hits in the loss. The Subway Series continues tonight at 7:10 at Citi Field.
