TODAY’S GAME: This morning, the Bisons host the Toledo Mud Hens in the first game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (10:35 a.m.). Today’s game also starts an eight-game homestand for the Herd as they will host Syracuse, May 31 - June 3. Buffalo is coming off a split of a four-game series with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. The Bisons are 16-6 at home this season.

vs. MUD HENS: This series marks the first meeting between the Bisons and Mud Hens this season. Last year, Toledo won the season series, 6-2, over the Herd. Both of Buffalo’s victories came at Coca-Cola Field. However, since rejoining the IL in 1998, the Bisons have handled the Mud Hens to the tune of 53-43 record (.552), that includes a 26-22 (.542) record at home.
MOUND WORK: LHP BOBBY LIVINGSTON is coming off his one of his best starts of the season. On May 21, the southpaw threw seven impressive innings of two-hit baseball and allowed only one earned run against Charlotte. The victory was Livingston’s second on the year and lowered his ERA to 3.88.

HOLY THOLE: C JOSH THOLE is currently on a season high five-game hit streak. He has averaged .526 (10-19) with four doubles, two RBI and his first home run of the season. Over the streak, Thole has a .550 on-base percentage and a .894 slugging mark. Since returning from a six-day stint with the Mets, Thole has raised his batting average from .203 to .250.

HESS IS THE BEST: INF MIKE HESSMAN still leads the International League in home runs (14) and RBI (49). Hessman also leads in extra-base hits (29) and total bases (108). Hessman is second in the IL for slugging percentage (.639) and tied for second for double (15) and tied for third in runs scored (33).

HIT MACHINE: Despite being hitless in two straight, OF JESUS FELICIANO still leads the International League with a .364 average. Feliciano’s average is 35 points higher than any other player. Feliciano is also second in on-base percentage (.419).

LIVING DAYLIGHTS: The Buffalo Bisons are currently 11-5 (.688) in day games this season, winning three of their last four in the sunshine.

CLASS IN SESSION: This morning, the Bisons will host over 10,000 area children for their annual School Kids Day game. Schools spanning from Northern Pennsylvania to Niagara County will be represented in this morning’s crowd. This will be the Herd’s 31st School Kids day at Coca-Cola Field. The first 30 events have drawn over 440,000 to class at the ballpark.
