Great Pitching Night For The Mets

MLB- Mike Pelfrey: The Mets SP2 pitched dominantly in the first four innings, worked himself out of the fifth, and finished the night giving up only one run in six innings (5-K, 2-BB). He especially threw an abundance of first pitch strikes, though it would have been nice to see him last at least another inning. That being said, it still was a quality start

AAA-Dillon Gee: Right now, Dillon Gee is in slot one for the next call up so it’s vital that he keeps doing things right in Buffalo. Friday night resulted in 6.2-IP, 1-ER, 5-K and his ERA was lowered to 3.86.

AA- Chris Schwinden: The B-Mets have been stuck in their worst stretch so far this season, losing nine ina row going into Saturday night’s game. And no one has played worse than the rotation, who was 0-7, 8.79 during that stretch. They turned to Chris Schwinden, who was pitching the best at St. Lucie and he gave them six excellent innings: 6.0-IP, 1-ER, 5-K, 0-BB.

A+ - Robert Carson: Carson has put together three decent starts coming into Friday night, after starting the season all over the place. He did give up 12 hits Friday night, but his overall stats were impressive: 7.1-IP, 2-ER, 3-K. His ERA is now down to 4.95 from a year high of 81.00 on April 15.

A – Mark Cohoon: I’ve learned over the years not to get to excited about A-level pitching. That being said, this year’s version of the Sand Gnat rotation might be the most talented I have ever seen. One of them, Mark Cohhon, pitched Saturday night and threw up 6.0-IP, 2-ER, 5-K, 0-BB, 2.05-ERA.

A wonderful pitching night for a team that needed it badly.
