In Sunday’s 11-2 victory of California, Rasmussen notched six strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work as the seventh-ranked Bruins won their seventh-straight game and ninth-consecutive Pac-10 game. With the victory, UCLA has pulled within two-games of No. 3 Arizona State with three games remaining. In addition, the Bruins tied the school record for most regular-season wins (41), also set in 1979. The junior left-hander from Arcadia, Calif., limited the Golden Bears to one run and two hits. For the season, Rasmussen ranks near the top in the Pac-10 in multiple categories, including fourth in strikeouts (96), sixth in wins (8), seventh in opponent batting average (.222) and ninth in ERA (3.00).

Andrew Foushee:

5-24 from: - link  - Presbyterian College hurler Andrew Foushee (Augusta, Ga.) has been named The Crons Brand Pitcher of the Week. Foushee led the Blue Hose to a victory in their season finale with a complete game four-hit shutout at VMI last Friday. He struck out 10 batters and walked just two hitters, and retired the final 16 batters he faced to earn his second win of the season. Foushee struck out the side in the second inning and held the Keydets to a .133 batting average on the night.


Kurtis Muller:

The junior hit .714 in the series and slugged 1.286, combining for an OPS of 2.000. The center fielder also drove in six runs and scored five, hitting two doubles and two home runs and stealing three bases in the three-game set. Muller recorded three or more hits in all three conference games, also going 4-for-5 with a double, a homer, two runs and a pair of RBI in the series opener. The series sweep marked Iowa’s first to end a season since 1980. The Hawkeyes have won seven of their last eight conference games as they enter their first Big Ten tournament since 2007.
