FLASH - Rubin Takes On The Mets v4.0

I May Be Wrong, But…  Rubin Takes On The Mets v4.0

Some innocent twitter-head asked ESPN’s Adam Rubin what seemed like an innocent question regarding the fact that the Mets and SNY announced that they are going to cover Zack Wheeler’s Buffalo game live on Friday and all of a sudden Adam pulled the set out again:

Adam Rubin‏@AdamRubinESPN -  “SNY, Mets aren't same thing but team doing tremendous disservice to its top prospects. They're contributing to hyping Harvey & Wheeler to point where if they're not aces--just pretty good--fans will view them as disappointments. Heck, Mets compared on their Twitter account Harvey's first few innings to Strasburg's. Don't see the wisdom in that.

What the hell is this all about? Is there a job out there better for him that he’s poaching for?

Look, Rubin and I have had personal issues in the past and I wrote a piece on him that I wish I didn’t, but he’s flat out the best Mets beat reporter out there. And, do you know what makes him the best?

Simple. He writes more good shit in one hour than most do in a day.

Forget the fact that no one sends him a birthday card. He does his job and he does it well, but why now this? Excuse the Mets for trying to sell a commercial or two on the network.

Is this a return salvo for TC’s comments to him yesterday?

Will the ‘Rubin Replaces Sandy’ rumors start now?

More to follow…

Am I missing something here? What did TC say to Rubin?
He's not exactly the nicest beat writer out there.

TC was critical about how and what Rubin writes about the Mets. Look, ther's very few people that like Adam... no, that's a stretch... I don't know anyone that likes Rubin... but there is no reason he needs to do this...

Rubin writes good stuff but he always seems to want to prove that he's the smartest guy in the room. That he should be the GM.

He's the only beat writer I follow now - my writing is better when it isn't influenced by all the writers... that being said, Adam always tweets everything... he does seem to cut and paste a lot from other beat writers which I'm sure doesn't make them happy.

I have stood in the clubhouse a number of times with all of them. They all get along with each other and seem to respect each other as well.

Then, there's Adam all alone on the other side of the room.

This is about the 3rd or 4th time he's taken off on the Mets via Twitter ecently. Why grow a set now and what's the motivation?

Is he trying for Anderson Cooper's job now? (not that there's anything wrong with it...)
