Can he be a SP#5 at this point or is he still just a AAAA type of guy?

Brian, he probably could be for somebody, but there is no room for him on the Mets.

The 2013 SP5 looks to once again be Gee.

2014 looks to be Wheeler, Harvey, Niese.. and two between Dickey (?), Montero, Pill, Mazzoni, and Gee

He enters the Rule 5 at the end of this season and I can't see the Mets protecting him. This is what guys like him play for... a chance for a new start with a team that will protect them.
