Thursday night in Miami, Zach Wheeler continued his dominance over the Marlins as he went the distance on a 3 hit shutout. The Mets beat the Marlins 1-0. The Met offense is still struggling, but David Wright is heating up. Wright gave the Mets a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with a solo homer (6) and his 2nd in three nights. Other than that it was all Wheeler. Wheeler only allowed 3 hits he walked 1 and struck out 8 as he faced one over the minimum of 27 batters. He gets the win improving to 3-7. Highly touted rookie left-hander Andrew Heaney started for Miami was impressive in his own right going 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run (earned) he walked 1 and struck out 3. He takes the hard luck loss falling to 0-1. Daniel Murphy went 2 for 4 as well. The Mets have now won 2 straight and are now 2-2 on the road trip. Overall they are 33-40 and are 17-20 on the road. Friday night is game two of this 4 game set. Daisuke Matsuzaka (3-0 2.81) goes for the Mets. Henderson Alvarez (3-3 2.56) goes for the Marlins.

Hey, Bob Sugar, as there is almost every nite, lots of interesting happenings in Mets minors. Lots of cool happenings, like Mazzilli. How about Ivan Wilson with a HR and double in his first game this year after a real struggle straight out of HS last yr? How about Gorski's and Pills great nites last nite. D'Arnaud on fire... Etc. Exciting.

Agree with you on the minors. I check almost every night and follow the players . Now I'm keen to follow the new draft picks and a guy like Blake Taylor who we just acquired. Love to see a guy like Dilson Herrera come up to AA and not be intimidated and knocking down two singles. Honestly it's more fun than watching the big club score 1 or 2 runs every game.
