Tuesday night at Safeco Field Jacob deGrom continued to impress and Lucas Duda and Travis d’Arnaud provided the offense, the Mets beat the Mariners 3-1. The Mets were facing M’s rookie Erasmo Ramirez and they got to him early scoring twice in the top of the 2nd. d’Arnaud made it 1-0 when his liner to center skipped by a sliding James Jones for an RBI triple. Ruben Tejada then blooped an RBI single and it was 2-0. Dustin Ackley provided the only blemish on deGrom’s pitching line with a RBI double in the bottom of the 5th. In the 8th, Lucas Duda hit a long home run (15) off the auxiliary scoreboard in right center to cap the scoring. deGrom went 7 allowing just 5 hits 1 run (earned) he walked 1 and struck out 7 he gets the win he’s now 4-5. deGrom becomes the 1st Met rookie since 1968 to pitch three consecutive games going 7 innings, getting the win and allowing 1 run. (Jerry Koosman did it in 1968). Jeurys Familia pitched the 8th and Jenrry Mejia pitched the 9th for this 12th save. After the Mets scored twice off Ramirez he had a real good outing going 7 himself, allowing 5 hits 2 runs (earned) walking 2 and striking out 10. He gets the hard luck loss and falls to 1-5. The Mets snap their 3 game slide and improve to 2-3 on the current road trip. Overall they are 47-53 and 22-30 on the road. Wednesday afternoon it’s the rubber game of this series. Bartolo Colon (8-8 4.12) goes for the Mets, Taijuan Walker (1-1 3.60) goes for Seattle.

deGrom's value keeps going up. He's looking like a great replacement for Thor or Wheeler, either in the long term rotation or as a major trade chit.
