Thursday night in Milwaukee, the Brewers got to Dillon Gee
for 6 runs in the first 3 innings; the Brewers beat the Mets 9-1. For the
second straight outing Gee didn’t have it struggling through 5 innings allowing
6 runs on 6 hits while walking 2 and striking out 6. Daisuke Matsuzaka relieved
was greeted by Khris Davis with a solo homer, his 17th on the
year. In the 7th Ryan Braun
hit a tape measure shot of Dice-K his 14th on the year to cap the
scoring. Dice-k allowed 3 runs in his 2
innings. Jonathon Lucroy got ball
rolling for the Brewers in the bottom of the 1st with a solo homer,
his 12th on the year. Matt Garza started for Milwaukee and only
allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 8 innings. That was a solo homer by Lucas Duda, his
16th, that’s also his career best for homers in a season. Gee takes the loss he falls to 4-3. Garza
picks up the win he improves to 7-7. The
Mets now stand at 48-54 on the season and 23-31 on the road. Friday night is
game two of the series Zach Wheeler (5-8
3.78) goes for the Mets, Yovani Gallardo (5-5 3.79) goes for Milwaukee.
