'Sources' tell me that SS Amed Rosario is on the way to Savannah. Replacing him is Alfredo Reyes from the GCL Mets, not Milton Ramos or Luis Guillorme (???)
I think strictly because Alfredo Reyes is 20 (turns 21 next month), while Guillorme is 19 & Ramos is 18 is what gave him an advantage over the other two. Also, Reyes was signed as a16yr old and played 3 years in the DSL, so he's got more experience as a pro, which is helpful in a Brooklyn with the big crowds.
Also saw that they moved Franklin Correa from DSL up to GCL who was signed in the same IFA class as Amed Rosario, but is not even close to being in the same talent class as him. He hasn't hit much and probably only a 2B defensively with his 5'9, 175 lb frame.
I'm not sure if you were agreeing with me or being sarcastic, since your placement of your comma doesn't help to understand what you're trying to emphasize, but three !!!'s must mean you were really excited about your comment, that so I got!!!!
Did someone mention something about Reyes having experience with big crowds and that being the reason for his call up? I know I didn't, only stating that he's a few years older and has been playing in pro ball for a few more years than the other two.
Hopefully that will help him be more comfortable, quicker and have smaller adjustment period than the other two young SS's playing in front of bigger crowds in Brooklyn. That's a pretty big stage for kids not to far removed from high school.
Not sure what is driving this move, but hopefully this is a sign of fast track. Ruiz has been serviceable recently at SS and Rosario was way overmatched in his cameo, but if he can hop leagues with success, he could end next year in STL. that would be a major positive. Fulmer to Bingo is also interesting, he has been up and down, but again, if he can find some success there this year and starts off well there next year, that is one more pitcher nearing tradable levels. My guess is that Fulmer is destined for the Pen, but geez, if he could regain his form next year in Bingo, that would be a major major boost to an already stacked inventory of starting pitching. Gnoa has stalled, Robles has fizzled and Lara/Cessa have wobbled, so for Fulmer to step up next year at AA would keep the pipeline moving and hopefully some of the Gnats arms can avoid the High A blues next year. I also see Dario Alvarez as a potential LOOGY as soon as next year.
also, if you are going to risk Rosario in a second go round at Savannah after his struggles, why hold back Comforto from joining him? both Rosario and Fulmer are definite pushes, so why not push a little more for a player they desperately need to move quickly?
Guillorme and Ramos are recently having success with the Stick and since they are considered glove first, it may make sense to keep them where they are so they can finish on an offensive high note. If either one of those develop a bat, they will have a nice ML career

I'm sure Reyes' experience, with big crowds was the main reason of this move, especially at GCL where the attendance on a good day is 4 people!!!

Also, just heard that Michael Fulmer was called up to AA and will make his AA debut tonight in place of Angel Cuan, who was sent down to St. Lucie.
Good luck tonight Michael Fulmer! I still have high hopes for your future!
