Now Here's the Scoop:
Las Vegas sent Stauffer to the mound against 24 below .500 Salt Lake. Pitches 7 strong innings. Alvarez a perfect inning for the win, Herrera his 6th homer, and Tovar (.279) was 3-4 and drove in the tie breaking run in the 9th.
Binghamton's Rainy Lara took his sunny disposition to the hill tonight against a Bowie team that is also 13 over .500. It was a bad outing for Rainy. Brock Peterson had 3 of the team's 5 hits in a 1 run loss.
St Lucie's Logan Taylor hoped to further close the gap between the Miracle and the Mets. 5 innings and 4 runs allowed put the Mets behind.
They rallied for 2 in the 8th and the 9th but Dave Roseboom surrendered the winning tally in the bottom of the 9th. Eric Goedell also gave up a run in an inning of work, but the elbow is feeling good. McNeil 3 hits (.318).
Savannah's Casey Delgado hoped to improve on his 5-3 Mark coming in. But that would have required that it not rain. Postponed.
Brooklyn hoped to get untracked tonight against another struggling squad, Vermont. Andrew Church was good, but lost 2-1 as the Clones again struggled at the dish - just 4 hits.
Kingsport hoped a dose of Nabil Crismatt would bristle Bristol. They got a dose of rain instead.
GCL Mets: in Game one, Rafael Montero went 2 scoreless, 1 hit, 1 K, one big sigh of relief.
Ali Sanchez had 2 hits and Desmond Lindsay tripled and scored the winning run in the 9th on a single by Franklin Correa.
Game 2 was a loss, also decided by 1 run. But they got the two games in. Miraculous.
GOAT: Rainy Lara
