Today the Mets released embattled 24-year old outfielder Cesar Puello who had been on the 60-day DL with back problems since early Spring. He had been on the major league disabled list and only managed to appear in 1 game with the Port St. Lucie. After having served a suspension for PEDs and being out of options, it was unlikely he had any future with the organization.
The timing is coincidental in that the Mets need to create both 25-man and 40-man roster space for the projected Monday return of David Wright. However, Puello was on neither and this move does not help in that regard.

In Puello's case, not meant to be. Stay away from Jennry Mejia and PEDS.
