ABOUT LAST GAME: Columbia bounced back on Saturday for an 8-4 win over Charleston. The Fireflies had lost back-to-back one-run games in the series. Columbia jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four innings and never looked back. Joe Shaw tossed seven innings and allowed just two runs. The starter struck out a career-high 10 batters - which is also the most for any Fireflies starter in 2016 in one game.
J-ROD STRIKES AGAIN: Manager Jose Leger has placed J.C. Rodriguez in the three-hole in recent games. The move has paid off in a big way - Rodriguez had a marvelous night at the plate on Saturday, finishing 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles and two RBIs. Rodriguez became the fourth Firefly this season to record a four-hit night.
FOUR HORSEMEN: Rodriguez’s four-hit night is the fifth this season registered by a Columbia hitter.

TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE: The first five hitters in the Fireflies order on Saturday registered multi-hit nights.Kevin Kaczmarski, Vinny Siena, Rodriguez, Pat Mazeika and Milton Ramos combined to go 14-for-23 at the plate (.609).
THE O IS BACK: Columbia piled up eight runs and 15 hits on Saturday. The Fireflies had scored just 15 runs in the previous nine games.
ROSTER MOVE: David Thompson was placed on the disabled list and Luis Ortega was added to Columbia’s roster.
