The River Cats defeated the 51s, 5-1, on Tuesday morning before a Smokers Strike Out 15th Annual School Day Game (featuring 5th graders in the Clark County School District) crowd of 8,874 at Cashman Field.
Sacramento built a 4-0 lead after 3 ½ innings. Left fielder Eury Perez was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in the fourth inning.
Las Vegas left-hander P.J. Conlon suffered the loss. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 6 hits, 4 runs, walked 1 and struck out 3 on 75 pitches (44 strikes).
Shortstop Luis Guillorme was 2-for-4, RBI; right fielder Bryce Brentz and first baseman Dominic Smith were each 2-for-4.
Game three of the brief four-game homestand (series tied 1-1) is Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
