Gnats beat "Hot Rods" 3-1 in rain shortened-game.


Heavy rains came at the start of the 6th inning and the umpires stopped the game and the game was officially called after an hour and several minutes delay.
Robert Carson pitched 5 innings giving up 6 hits, 1 base on ball, 2 strike outs, and allowed 1 earned run. The radar gun showed his fastball at 90, 91, 92 and he had good command of his pitches. Carson improved his record to 8-7.
The Sand Gnats had 4 hits, three of the hits were doubles. The Gnats scored their three runs in the third inning. Jose Jimenez led off the third inning with a single and advanced to third when Luis Alen hit a double. Raul Reyes hit a double driving in both runners. Reyes scored when Abruzzo hit a ground ball to first base and was able to reach first base on an error by the first baseman.
Ratliff went 0-3, ending his 17 game hitting streak.
