TODAY’S GAME:
Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Columbus Clippers in the final game of a four-game series from Huntington Park (5:05 p.m.). The Herd has won two straight and can win the series over Columbus with a win tonight. Today’s game also marks the end of an eight-game roadtrip. The Bisons are 2-5 so far on the trip. On Monday, the Bisons host the Rochester Red Wings in a five-game in four-game series at Coca-Cola Field.
vs. THE CLIPPERS:
The Bisons are 4-3 against Columbus thus far in 2009. The teams split a four-game series back at Coca-Cola Field, May 21-24, with Columbus taking the first two games and Buffalo winning the last two contests.
THE REY TO GO:
INF Argenis Reyes has hit in every game during the team’s current roadtrip. He has averaged .375 (12-32) with two doubles, a triple, five RBI and two runs scored in the seven games in Ohio. The stretch has raised Reyes’ season average 15 points from .255 to .270. His 66 hits on the year are the fourth highest on the team.
ON BROADWAY:
RHP Lance Broadway is hoping to bounce back from a rough start his last time out. Broadway allowed nine runs in 4.1 innings of work on Tuesday in Toledo. However, Broadway is also coming off a great month of July. The hurler went 2-1 with a 2.67ERA in five games and four starts. That includes a 9.0-inning complete game win on July 8 against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.
IN LIKE A LAMB:
INF Mike Lamb has hit in eight of his last 10 games, with five multi-hit performances during that stretch. Since July 29, the veteran has averaged .385 (15-39). That includes some great power numbers: five doubles, a home run and eight RBI. Since the start of July, Lamb has averaged .300 (36-120) with 10 doubles, a triple, two home runs and 15RBI in 34 games.
