LAST GAME: Erie salvaged a split in the four-game series with

at Jerry Uht Park. Cesar Nicolas hit a game-winning,

to make the difference. All of the SeaWolves runs came courtesy
of the long ball, Josh Burrus hit a three-run shot in the
third and Wilkin Ramirez smacked a solo homer in the sixth,
both came off starter Scott Shaw. Shaw tossed 5.1 innings
and allowed four runs on six hits in a no-decision. The B-Mets
clocked two homers of their own, solo shots from Lucas Duda
and Marshall Hubbard. Binghamton smacked 13 hits, including
10 of starter L.J. Gagnier, who departed after loading the
bases in the sixth. Mike Nickeas enjoyed his second three-hit
game of the series and was joined by Carlos Guzman, Duda
and Hubbard who also had multi-hit performances.
STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mike Antonini will get the
ball for Binghamton for the sixth time this season. Last time
out May 2 at Akron, the lefty delivered 5.2 innings of one-run
work on five hits to win his third game. He is 3-2 with a 4.33
ERA in 27 innings, having walked just five men. Antonini went
7-5 with a 5.32 ERA over 25 appearances, 20 starts, spanning
115 innings last year with Binghamton. He was the Mets
18th round choice in the June 2007 draft out of Georgia College
& State University.
RHP Zach Stewart is due for his fifth start of the season. He
tossed a season-high six innings in his last start May 2 versus
Reading and picked up his second win despite allowing five
runs on seven hits. Stewart is 2-1 with a 5.75 ERA in 20.1
innings so far in 2010. The former third-round pick of the
Reds in 2008 out of Texas Tech was traded to Toronto along
with Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Roenicke for Scott Rolen
last season.
SANTOS JOINS B-METS: A year removed from being the primary
backstop for the New York Mets, catcher Omir Santos
will make his Binghamton debut tonight. He was optioned to
the B-Mets yesterday when Shawn Riggans was reinstated
from the Disabled List and transferred to Buffalo (AAA). Santos
was hitting .194 (7-36) with the Bisons.
NICKEAS KNOCKING THE COVER OFF IT: B-Mets catcher Mike
Nickeas is on a serious tear at the plate. After batting
just .150 (3-20) over his first six games, Nickeas has recorded
eights hits in his last four games to raise his average to .314
(11-35). He had a pair of three-hit games in the four-game set
at Erie. Nickeas is a career .231 hitter over six professional
seasons through 2009. His best season was his rookie year,
2004 with Spokane (SS-A) when he hit .288 with 10 homers
