LAST GAME: The B-Mets dropped their third straight game last night, 5-2 at Trenton. It marks the B-Mets third, three-game losing streak of the season. Starter Eddie Kunz worked five innings and allowed two earned runs for a no-decision. The Thunder broke a 2-2 deadlock in the seventh with a three-run outburst. A bases-loaded, RBI groundout from David Adams broke the tie and Brandon Laird capped the inning with a two run single to push the lead to three for Trenton. The B-Mets scored just two runs for the third straight game, all of which have been losses. Brahiam Maldonado produced a perfect 2-2 showing with a double and an RBI. The bullpen loomed large for the Thunder with five, shutout innings following David Phelps’ shortest start of the year, four innings. Wilkins Arias, Noel Castillo and Eric Wordekemper combined to throw the final five, allowing just two hits. Castillo got the win with a solid seventh and Wordekemper fired the final two innings for his third save.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Dylan Owen will make his sixth start of the year tonight for the B-Mets. He fired six, terrific innings versus New Hampshire May 9 at NYESG Stadium to beat the Fisher Cats. Owen allowed just a run on three hits with four strikeouts in the win. The righty is 2-1 with
a 3.34 ERA in 32.1 innings. Owen made 23 starts for Binghamton last season, chewing up a team-best 123 innings with a 4-10 record and 5.93 ERA. He was the Mets 20th round selection in the 2007 draft out of Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.

RHP Lance Pendleton will take the ball for the Thunder in Game 2 of the series. He is coming off his longest start of the season, six innings of two-run work versus Bowie May 8 at Waterfront Park in a no-decision. Pendleton is 1-2 with a 5.28 ERA in 29 innings. He opened the year in the bullpen before entering the rotation when Christian Garcia went to the Disabled List after his first start. Combined to go 12-8 with a
3.14 ERA in 28 appearances (26 starts) last season between Tampa (High-A) and Trenton (AA). Drafted by the Yankees in the fourth round in the June 2005 draft out of Rice University
