Cody Allen:
5-9 from: - http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/2010/5/9/1464253/more-seiler-ratings#storyjump - Cody Allen, RHP, St. Petersburg JC (FL), 3C1: Former Central Florida prospect, missed 2009 due to injury, transferred into St. Petersburg as 21 year old sophomore. Maxed out physically, but flashes good stuff with low-90s fastball, average curveball and changeup. Might profile best as setup reliever.
Bryan Holaday:
5-10 from: http://baseballdraftreport.com/ – top 30 college catchers - 12. TCU SR C Bryan Holaday -
Off the charts leadership, plus raw strength, excellent gap power, elite defender, and a plus arm. That description immediately makes me think of the guy ranked number four on this list. Quick conclusion: Bryan Holaday is about 90% of the player Micah Gibbs is with only about 9% of the hype. Of course, their respective placement on the list makes me guilty of overlooking Holaday as well. He’s a relatively safe investment in the mid-rounds for a team in need of a high floor backup with the upside of a solid second division starting player.
Asher Wojciechowski:
5-10 from: - http://www.baseballrumormill.com/ - Even pitching for a small school, Asher could not avoid the big name malaise that's running through college baseball. Wojciechowski equally as bad, giving up six earned runs on seven hits and four walks in five innings pitched while striking out four.
Grant Buckner:
5-10-10 from: - http://thecollegebaseballblog.com/2010/05/10/big-east-players-of-the-week-13/#more-26203 - Connecticut righthanded pitcher Matt Barnes and West Virginia third baseman Grant Buckner are the winners of the BIG EAST’s weekly baseball honors for the week-ending May 9. Buckner led the Mountaineers to their first BIG EAST series sweep of the season against Notre Dame. In Game 1 of the doubleheader on May 8, the junior set a WVU single-game record with 10 RBI. Of his four hits in that game, three were home runs. On the week, Buckner hit .667 (8-12) with 14 RBI, four home runs and a slugging percentage of 1.750. This is his first BIG EAST Player of the Week recognition.
Kyle Richter:
5-11 from: - http://baseballbeginnings.com/2010/05/11/kyle-richter-update - Here, Richter was 88-91, commanding best with movement at 88-89, and bumping to 90-91 with some life. He had more power in September when I saw him in an Angel Elite inning pitch at 88-92 with one bump to 93. His change-up was 72-74 in that look and remains his best secondary weapon. Here, it was 75-77 (75) with some deception, movement and command. Richter does a good job of hiding the pitch, not tipping it, and throwing it from the same arm slot as his fastball.
