Austin Meadows, OF, Grayson HS (GA) - Right now, Meadows looks like the top high school player available in next year's class. He is committed to Clemson, but the right financial incentive could convince him to take his talents to pro ball. One of the best athletes available, Meadows has five-tool potential. He has big power, plus speed and a terrific throwing arm. He offers more upside than anyone available in the class and could make a strong case as the No. 1 overall pick. Meadows will likely end up in right field as a big leaguer, but the tools easily profile for the position. He has legitimate All-Star potential right now, with a lot of room to grow over the next 12 months.

Cape Cod League - HARWICH MARINERS - Manger: Steve Englert (11th season) Last season: 24-19-1; second place in East. Defeated Falmouth in final.  Outlook: Four Mariners return from last season's championship team: Stanford outfielder Austin Wilson, North Carolina State junior shortstop Chris Diaz, Louisiana State sophomore outfielder JaCoby Jones and Missouri State junior RHP Grant Gordon. Wilson hit .285 with 10 homers, 54 RBIs and a .389 on-base pecentage for the Cardinals while Diaz, named to the All-ACC first team, batted .346 with 56 RBIs for the Wolf Pack. Gordon appeared in 19 games for the Bears posting a 3.28 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings. Harwich boasts a strong lot of exciting newcomers. Virginia third baseman Stephen Bruno, a seventh-round pick in the MLB first-year player draft by the Chicago Cubs, batted .370 for the Cavaliers and tallied a team-high 54 RBIs, adding six homers. Kentucky freshman LHP AJ Reed was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-America team. He posted a 2.52 ERA in 16 appearances (five starts), walking only nine batters in 53 2/3 innings while striking out 51. He also batted .300 as a utility player for the Wildcats. Kentucky sophomore LHP Corey Littrell led the Wildcats a 2.74 ERA in 16 starts, striking out 87 while walking 25 in 98 2/3 innings. Seton Hall junior RHP Ryan Harvey struck out 90 through 77 innings. LSU freshman RHP Aaron Nola, also a SEC first teamer, compiled a 3.61 ERA and had 89 strikeouts through 89 2/3 innings. Two Notre Dame players should provide some pop for the Mariners. Sophomore Trey Mancini hit 12 home runs batting .317 and tallying 45 RBIs and sophomore Eric Jagielo, Big East All-Conference first team, blasted 13 homers, batting .310 with 43 RBIs. South Carolina freshman outfielder Tanner English, SEC first team, is batting .306 and has a .350 OBP for the CWS-bound Gamecocks.
