TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Pawtucket Red Sox in the third game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is 2-4 in the first six games of the homestand that started with a four-game split against Norfolk. After tomorrow’s game, the Bisons leave for an eight-game roadtrip to Norfolk and Durham. The Bisons are 19-15 at Coca-Cola Field this season.

vs. RED SOX: The Bisons are 2-4 against the Red Sox this season as they split a pair of two-games sets and dropped the first two games of the current series. Buffalo is now six games behind Pawtucket in the IL North Division.

WE ARE FAMILIA: RHPJEURYS FAMILIA takes the mound for his 14th start of the season. The righty is coming off his loss in a rain-shortened game against Norfolk on June 11. In the 5-4 game that lasted only five innings, Familia was credited with the Bisons’ second complete game of the season.

LONGBALL: INFVALENTINO PASCUCCI and OF MATT DEN DEKKER both went yard for the Herd last night. This is the first time the Herd has had a multi-homer game since May 19 when they went deep six times. It was den Dekker’s first Triple-A home run of his career and Pascucci’s 51st as a Bison, which puts him one behind Richie Sexson for sixth in the Modern era.

CEDENO: INFRONNY CEDENO joined the Herd yesterday on an MLB rehab assignment and he went 1-4 at the plate. The Mets’ placed Cedeno on the DL on May 27 with a strained left calf. The infielder hit .231 (15-65) with a homer and 7RBI in 25 games with New York this season.

ROSTER MOVE: INFJUSTIN TURNER was activated by the Mets off his MLB injury rehab assignment with the Bisons. Turner went 1-4 in each of his two games with Buffalo. The Mets placed OFJASON BAY on the DL today.

BISONS BITS: OFFRED LEWIS had two hits last night for the Herd including a fourth inning double. His .296 average now qualifies as the 11th best in the IL...RHPFERNANDO CABRERA leads the IL with 15 saves...RHP JENRRY MEJIA made his first ever relief appearance with the Herd last night in a scoreless inning of work. He was 1-1 with a 1.13ERA in three starts this year.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (35-30) lost the first of a three game series to Cincinnati last night, 7-3. Former Bisons OFKIRK NIEUWEHUIS hit another home run, his third in two games. OF SCOTT HAIRSTON also went deep for his ninth of the season. The Mets play the Reds again tonight (7:15 p.m.).
