LAST GAME: The Bowie Baysox scored three runs in the first inning for the second straight game and defeated the B-Mets 7-3 last night at NYSEG Stadium. Binghamton surrendered a dozen hits in their fourth straight loss at home. Starter Gonzalez Germen allowed four runs on six hits over five innings and had his three-game winning streak snapped. Tim Bascom scattered six hits and four walks, allowing two runs over six innings to end his six-game winless streak. Wilmer Flores hit his first home run as a B-Met, going deep to right center against Bascom to leadoff the fourth inning. Juan Lagares reached safely in all five plate appearances on three singles and a pair of walks. Jeff Stevens posted two perfect innings of relief while Erik Turgeon allowed three runs on six hits in two frames. Chris Petrini collected his first Double-A save.
STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Darin Gorski (5-4, 4.11) makes his 13th start of the season and 14th overall appearances. The southpaw earned the win in his last start, tossing six shutout innings against the Erie SeaWolves on June 22. It was the fourth time this season Gorski has thrown six shutout innings or more. He allowed five hits and struck out four. Selected in the seventh round of the 2009 draft, Gorski is in his first season with the B-Mets.
RHP Bobby Bundy (2-9, 4.91) takes the mound for his 15th start and first against the B-Mets. The Oklahoma native has gone winless in his last seven starts and is suffering through his second four-game losing streak of the year. He lost his most recent start against the Reading Phillies on June 23. The righty allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits over 4.2 innings. His last win came against the Altoona Curve on May 9. Selected in the eighth round of the 2008 draft out of Sperry HS in Skiatook, Oklahoma, Bundy spent the final month of last season with Bowie. He is the older brother of Orioles top prospect pitcher Dylan Bundy.
