August 28thWednesday night in Flushing, The Phillies broke at 1 all tie with 3 runs in the top of the 5th inning. They went on to beat the Mets  6-2. Diasuke Matsuzaka started for the Mets and danced through rain drops for the first 4 innings. The Mets grabbed him a 1-lead  in the 3rd on an rbi single by Ike Davis. In the 4th the Phils tied it on a Jimmy Rollins double to left. In 5th Dice K tired, and Philly scored 3 times. Matsuzaka hit John Mayberry with a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 2-1, then Cole Hamels brought home a pair of runs on a single to left off reliever Robert Carson (the runs were charged to Matsuzaka). After that, the Phils never looked back.  The Mets made it 5-2 in the 7th on an rbi double by Andrew Brown.  In the top of the 9th, Kevin Frandsen made it to first on an error by Scott Atchison that brought home the last run for the Phillies. Dice K went 4 1/3 he allowed 6 hits 4 runs (all earned) he walked 4 and struck out 5. He gets the loss and falls to 0-2. Hamels allowed 9 hits, 2 runs and struck out 8 in 7 innings to pick up the win. He’s now 6-13. Not much offensively for the Mets, aside from the rbi’s Eric Young Jr. had a single and two stolen bases  on the evening. The loss drops the Mets to 27-38 at home on the season and 59-72 overall. Thursday afternoon is the finale of this 4 game series as the Mets look for a split.  Carlos Torres (2-2  2.96) goes for the Mets.  Ethan Martin (2-2  6.33) goes for Philadelphia. http://www.facebook.com/metsforum
