@J_Teaney3: no I'm going to college
Baseball America has him ranked #334 - Teaney has a quick arm and plenty of athleticism, but his smallish 6-foot-1 lacks physicality, making many scouts content to let him follow through on his commitment to San Diego. His deceptive, funky delivery and high slot give him some deception, making his 88-91 fastball play up a bit, but scouts aren’t in love with his mechanical, one-piece arm action. He has good feel for a 76-79 breaking ball with solid depth, and he flashes a promising low-80s changeup as well.
PG: - Jonathan Teaney is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Palmdale, CA who attends Quartz Hill HS. Slender young athletic build, lots of room to get stronger, projects well. Slow paced delivery, accelerates to the plate with energy, over the top arm slot, fast arm coming through. Steady 89-91 mph fastball, good downhill angle to the plate, gets on hitters pretty quickly. Big downer curveball in the mid-70’s, developed good feel for the CB the mroe he threw it, flashed hard spin at times, didn’t see a change up. Good athlete with two way potential. Right handed hitter, loose quick hands, balanced bent knee stance, has present bat speed and some pull power, projects offensively. 7.18 runner, lots of outfield arm strength, moves well to the ball, also plays the middle infield. Young athlete who could develop in any number of ways as he gets stronger. Excellent student, verbal commitment to San Diego.
