Sunday in Philadelphia the Phillies scored two runs in the bottom of the 9th coming back from  5 runs down to beat the Mets 7-6. After one inning it was all tied at 1, but the Amazins had Kyle Kendrick’s number, scoring 1 in the 2nd and 2 runs apiece in the 3rd and 5th innings to take at 6-1 lead.  But the Phillies weren’t done. They got a two run double off Met starter Zach Wheeler by Domonic Brown to make it 6-3 after 6, then in the 7th Chase Utley hit a 2 run triple off Vic Black and it was 6-5.  Josh Edgin came in with 2 outs in the 7th and Utley on third and struck out Ryan Howard and then struck out the side in the 8th to bridge the gap to the 9th. Jenrry Mejia came in for the save in the 9th and allowed a leadoff double to Cody Ashe.  Marlon Byrd then singled up the middle scoring Ashe to tie the game.  After Chase Utley was intentionally walked on a 3-2 count, Ryan Howard stroked a winning RBI single down the right field line to bring home Byrd with the game winner. For Mejia it’s his 3rd blown save on the year and he takes the loss falling to 5-5.  Ken Giles gets the win he’s now 1-0. Wheeler went 6 innings allowing just 3 hits, 3 runs (all earned) he walked 3 and struck out 5. The Mets offense pounded out 13 hits on the day getting 2 hits apiece by Curtis Granderson, David Wright, Travis d’Arnaud,  Matt den Dekker and Juan Lagares.  Lagares added a big 2 run triple in the 3rd.  Utley went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI to lead the Phils.  With the loss the Mets fall to 56-62 on the year and 28-35 on the road. Still think Wilmer can handle shortstop? Not like this game was important or anything. Jesus Christ. With Ruben at ss, Mets win. Ugh

Lol....Stephen, we already know that ruben can play defense (and hit around .215-225 with 1/2 homers a year)........how bout seeing if wilmer can continue random oops defense, while possibly hitting .280+ with 10-15 homers and twice the RBIs and runs scored that ruben can produce.
