BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Gabriel Ynoa makes his sixth start of the season and his first against Harrisburg. The righty didn’t factor into the decision in his last outing. He lasted only four innings and allowed a season-high six runs on seven hits against Bowie on Friday, August 8. Binghamton won the game 9-8 in walk-off fashion. Ynoa’s allowed three runs or less three times this season, but has given up ten runs in his last two games combined. He has just three strikeouts in that time after tallying 17 K’s through his first four starts. The La Vega, Dominican Republic native was signed by the Mets as a minor league free agent on November 19, 2009.
HARRISBURG STARTER: RHP Austin Voth toes the rubber for the third time this season and his first against Binghamton. The Redmond, Washington native is coming off a loss in his most recent outing. He gave up two runs on five hits in five innings in a 6-5 loss to the Akron RubberDucks, on Sunday, August 3. Both runs were surrendered in the first inning. Voth split the first part of the year between Hagerstown (Low-A) and Potomac (High-A). He combined to go 6-4 and had an ERA under three at both stops. The University of Washington product was taken by the Nationals in the fifth round of the 2013 draft.

The unit has allowed one earned run in the last 32.2 innings. The stretch includes 32 strikeouts and just four walks. They have not surrendered a home run in the last five games. Overall, B-Met starters have a 3.86 ERA on the season.

WINNING THE WEST: Binghamton’s sweep of Richmond improves it’s record to 36-18 against teams from that division. They are in the midst of stretch of four straight series against Western foes. Through the first two series, the B-Mets are 6-1. They have a 3-1 record against Harrisburg in 2014.
LOOKING FOR MAGIC: The B-Mets saw their magic number to clinch a playoff spot drop to 12 on Thursday. The team has a 12 game lead for the final playoff sport in the Eastern Division.
