Dunedin 9 - St. Lucie 1

The Dunedin Blue Jays scored four runs in the first inning and cruised to a 9-1 win over the St. Lucie Mets on Wednesday at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

Andrew Guillotte went 4 for 5 with a home run and he scored three times in the first four innings to lead the way for Dunedin. The Blue Jays knocked around Mets starter Thomas McIlraith for seven runs and 11 hits in 3.2 innings.

Blue Jays starter Angel Perdomo limited the Mets to one run and six hits in five innings. He set the tone by striking out the side in the first. He ended up with seven strikeouts.

The Mets scored their only run in the fourth when they were already down 7-0. Nick Sergakis led off with a double and came around to score on John Mora’s single.

Eight of the nine players in Mets lineup recorded a hit. Sergakis was the only one with an extra base hit. Jeff Diehl singled to extend his hitting streak to six games.

The Mets (7-7) will look to win the series vs. the Blue Jays (7-7) when the teams meet in their four-game series finale on Thursday. First pitch is 6:30 p.m.
