30-Game Positional System Update: - 3B

In Queens: David Wright will play third base for the Mets until he retires, or when the cows come home, whatever comes first. Fernando Tatis is the backup.

AAA: Mike Hessman leads just about every offensive category in the league; however, he’s no threat to taking Wright’s job away. His back up is Mike Cervenak, who recently went on the DL.

AA: Zach Luz is making a name for himself, leading the league in home runs and HR/AB ratio, The problem is his BA is in the .275 range and he’s striking out around one third of the time. He still needs the rest of this season, and another at AAA, to work out the kinks, while at the same time, keep developing maturity, and power. Potentially a 30-HR, 90-RBI guy, but on what team? Primo trade bait.

A+: Richard Lucas has been the St. Lucie starter but hasn’t panned out so far this season. Ryland Sandoval has been his backup.

A: Jenry Marte returned from an opening season injury and is now the every day third baseman.

Extended Camp: Imbewer Alvarez, Charlie Hinojosa, Josh Dunn, Aderlin Rodriquez, James Schroeder, and Jospeh Bonfe

Disabled List: Cervenak and Matt Bouchard.

2010 Outlook: Wright will play every day with Tatis as his backup.

2011 and Beyond Outlook: Look, this is Wright’s job. Period.

On The Bubble: Lucas needs to pick it up or he will lose his 2011 job to either Hinojosa or Rodriquez.

Overall Organizational Rating: The Mets have one of the top players in baseball, playing quality third, at least the 2015 season. Many more fish to fry.

A+
