LAST GAME: Portland came out of the gates firing with four runs in the first frame off starter Scott Shaw, capped with a three-run triple from Jose Iglesias. The Sea Dogs got to Shaw again in the fifth with a Ryan Kalish solo homer and an Iglesias two-run single that upped the lead to 7-0. The B-Mets finally cracked the scoreboard in the eighth inning courtesy of a Lucas Duda RBI groundout and a wild pitch from reliever Eammon Portice that brought Nick Evans across. Shaw was charged with the loss for allowing seven runs over 4.1 innings. On the flip side, Stephen Fife tossed a gem, scattering seven hits over six strong innings for his second win of the year. Binghamton loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth, but failed to plate any further runs.
