From Press Release:
Jean Luc Blaquiere had to be happy with his Bisons' debut on Tuesday. The catcher had two doubles in his first ever Triple-A game for the Herd. Not a bad way to break in with a new team.
However, it was Blaquiere's encore effort that led Buffalo to big victory in the finale of their eight-game roadtrip.
The Bisons will return home to Coca-Cola Field on Friday riding a two-game winning streak thanks to a pair of home runs from Blaquiere in a 6-1 victory over the Bats on Thursday night from Louisville Slugger Field.
Blaquiere hadn't played a game above Single-A when he joined the club on Tuesday. Three days later, the catcher had three hits and four RBI. He hit a three-run shot in the fourth inning to get the Bisons on the board. Two innings later, Blaqueire's solo shot to left field gave the Herd an insurmountable 6-0 lead.
In between Blaquiere's blasts was a two-run homer from Mike Jacobs in the fifth inning. The three home runs accounted for all six of Buffalo's runs.
On the mound, Tobi Stoner won his second straight start with his best performance of 2010. The righty allowed just one run and struck out five in seven innings of work.
Bobby Parnell worked two hitless innings to close out the win.
