Minor Rags: - Dickey, Capt. Kirk... and Robert Carson.

Bisons:

Chaos is starting to swirl around the New York Mets but hasn't trickled down to the red-hot Buffalo Bisons. Yet. Although there's been no official announcement, the Bisons lost the ace of their rotation Monday as 35-year-old knuckleballer R.A. Dickey left the team to join the Mets and replace the injured Jonathon Niese. Dickey was absent from pitchers' fielding practice prior to an 11-4 win over the Norfolk Tides in Coca-Cola Field and had a nameplate on a locker at Atlanta's Turner Field. Dickey, who was 4-2 with a 2.23 earned-run average, is likely to start Wednesday in Washington. Another candidate for a promotion, 24-year-old Dillon Gee, struck out seven in six innings Monday for Buffalo to improve to 4-1. - link

The team leads the league in hits (338), doubles (80) and slugging percentage (.431). But the pitching remains inconsistent, currently ranked second to last in ERA (4.91) and earned runs (178). ... LF Lucas Duda is batting .303, but was placed on the disabled list Friday with a hamstring strain. ... Nieuwenhuis, given just his second day off Sunday, leads the league in runs (33). ... Relief pitcher Edgar Ramirez has yielded one run in his last 11 innings. - link

Lucy:

The St. Lucie Mets remained hot as they beat the Daytona Cubs 5-2 for their sixth win in a row on Monday at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach. The Mets (19-18) scored a run in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Eric Campbell, a run in the fifth on an RBI double by Wilfredo Tovar and three runs in the eighth. Stefan Welch had a two-run single and Richard Lucas added an RBI single in the inning. Robert Carson (2-3) struck out nine in five innings of relief for the win. - link

Gnats:

Three Augusta pitchers checked Savannah on two hits, and the GreenJackets defeated the division-leading Sand Gnats, 3-0, Monday night in Lake Olmstead Stadium. The loss dropped Savannah to 24-14 and trimmed the Gnats' lead in the South Atlantic League's Southern Division to a single game over the GreenJackets (23-15). Augusta scored all it needed to in the first inning when Christopher Dominguez stole home. Dominguez had singled and advanced to third on a single by Luke Anders.
