TODAY’S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons host the Norfolk Tides in the second game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd opened its eight-game homestand with a 5-0 loss to the Tides. Buffalo has now lost two straight after winning four of five last week. The Bisons are 17-12 at Coca-Cola Field this season.

vs. TIDES: The Bisons are 0-1 against the Tides this season. Norfolk’s 5-0 win last night was their first at Coca-Cola Field since May 16, 2010. Dating back to 2009, the Herd has won eight of its last 10 games against the Tides in Buffalo. The Bisons .633 winning pct. (69-40) against Norfolk since 1998 is their best against any team in the International League.

OWEN: RHPDYLAN OWEN will make his sixth start of the season today. The righty is coming off a three-inning loss in Columbus last Tuesday. Owen is 2-0 with a 2.38ERA in two starts and six appearances at Coca-Cola Field this season. Owen is also 1-0 with a 6.97ERA in two career starts against the Tides.

BEATO: RHPPEDRO BEATO tossed two more scoreless innings last night and has now made six consecutive scoreless outings for the Herd. Mustelier), Beato has allowed just four hits and struck out nine in his last 11.0 innings of work. The righty also has two wins in relief this year.

SHUTOUTS: Last night, the Bisons were shut out for the sixth time this year. The club has just two shutouts themselves. BISONS BITS: RHPFERNANDO CABRERA leads the International League with 13 saves this season. He is a perfect 13-13 converting save opportunities...With five more plate appearances, OFFRED LEWIS would qualify among lead leaders with sixth-highest average (.305) in the IL...RHPJACK EGBERT is third among all IL relievers for the fewest base runners/9.0 innings of work. The righty has allowed 8.78 base runners/9.0 innings.
