2006  -  Paul Sewald is a 2008 OF/P with a 6'2'', 170 lb. frame from Las Vegas NV, who attends Bishop Gorman. Sewald has a tall slender body with a lean build. Defensively, Sewald moves to the ball well and has solid outfield actions. He has arm strength with some carry on his throws. At the plate, Sewald has a level swing path with a high finish. He is aggressive to the ball in the strike zone and has present line drive pop. Sewald pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a good arm action. He has arm speed and pitches with low effort through his delivery. Sewald has solid mechanics and is smooth through finish. He has sink on his fastball with 11/5 break on his curveball. JUNIOR (2011): Made six game starts and 22 game appearances with a 3.63 ERA in 67 innings pitched...had a record of 2-4 and two saves...recorded a total of 49 strikeouts...had his longest outing against Fresno State (3/26/2011) with eight strikeouts in 7 innings pitched...made his first game start against UCONN on March 11, 2011.

SOPHOMORE (2010): Appeared in 10 games for the Toreros coming out of the bullpen in each of them... Helped the team win the WCC Championship...In a total of 14.0 innings, he struck out 12 batters and walked 10... In back-to-back appearances against UC Riverside (3/23/10) and Hawaii (3/29/10) he went one inning in each game and allowed one-hit apiece while allowing no runs.

FRESHMAN (2009): Appeared in 16 games for the Toreros...did not record any decisions in his 16 appearances while establishing a 9.14 ERA...made one start on 5/6 at Arizona State, throwing 2.0 innings, walking four, and striking out one in the no-decision...in 21.2 innings pitched on the season, he allowed 35 hits and 14 walks while striking out four...registered a walk in his lone plate appearance on 5/9 vs. San Francisco.
