LAST GAME: Zack Wheeler allowed just one run and struck out eight to lead the Binghamton Mets past the Reading Phillies by an 8-1 score last night at FirstEnergy Stadium. The B-Mets grabbed the lead for good with four runs on four hits in the second inning against Reading starter Jonathan Pettibone. Josh Rodriguez sealed the game with a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Pettibone suffered his fifth loss. Robert Carson capped the night with two scoreless innings of relief.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Gonzalez Germen (1-3, 4.50) makes his fifth appearance and fourth start for the B-Mets. Germen last appeared in relief against the New Britain Rock Cats on May 24. He allowed two runs on two hits in three innings and suffered his third loss. He surrendered a two-run homer to Deibinson Romero in the eighth inning that broke a tie in a game the Rock Cats won 6-4. Germen was promoted from St. Lucie (High-A) on May 4 to fill-in when Zack Wheeler  went on the disabled list. Germen went 3-0 with a 3.04 ERA in five games (four starts) in the Florida State League before his promotion. He was signed as a non-drafted free agent out of La Romana, Dominican Republic in October 2007.

RHP Steven Wright (3-2, 1.75) makes his ninth start of the season and third against the B-Mets. Wright went just three innings in his previous start against the Erie SeaWolves on May 28. The righty gave up two hits and walked two over three scoreless innings in a no-decision. Wright did not pitch from May 11 to May 28 due to a broken left toe. Wright, a native of Torrance, CA is in his fifth season with the Aeros. He pitched at four levels in the Indians system last year, racking up 25 appearances and making 20 starts. In two starts against the B-Mets, Wright has gone 0-1 with a 1.50 ERA.
