Clippers 9, Herd 1

The Bisons offense couldn't get much going against Columbus starter Chris Seddon Friday night at Huntington Park.
In result, the Herd is falls to Columbus 9-1 as they split the series 2-2.

Seddon was masterful against the Herd in seven and two-thirds innings pitched, not giving them much to hit in his outing until the eighth.
At one point, the Clippers lefty retired eleven batters in a row between the fourth and seventh innings. Seddon would go on to strike out seven Bisons, matching his season high.
Bisons pitchers sacrificed three solo shots to Clippers hitters Ezquiel Carrera in the first, then to Phelps and Goedart in back-to-back innings in the sixth and seventh.
In addition to runs in the third and fifth, Columbus had a 5-0 lead after Goedart's solo big fly.
Columbus tacked on two more runs to their 5-0 lead in the seventh, courtesy of Beau Mills' sacrifice fly to knock in Tim Fedroff then later in the inning an RBI single by Andy Laroche to bring Chad Huffman.
Bisons starter Matt Harvey would only last four and two-thirds innings, the second straight start the righty has lasted four or more innings.
Just like his last start against Toledo where he racked up his pitch count to 91 pitches, Harvey threw 84 pitches. It was enough that Manager Wally Backman saw enough of the young Mets prospect.
The Bisons lone run came in the eighth on a run-scoring by Wimberly to knock Sean Kazmar.
BISONS NOTES: Jack Egbert rejoined the Bisons after clearing waivers with the Mets...Chuck James placed on the disabled list with left shoulder tendinitis.... The Herd is second in the IL in both team batting average (.263) and runs scored (277).
