BINGHAMTON PITCHERS:

G1: LHP Jon Niese will pitch for the B-Mets on a Major League Rehab appearance. Niese was the Opening Day Starter for the New York Mets this season, and is 3-6 with a 4.32 ERA in 14 starts with them. He was placed on the DL (left rotator cuff) on June 21.

G2: LHP Mark Cohoon makes his 16th start of the season for the B-Mets, and his third against the Curve. In his last start, he beat the Curve after throwing 5.1 innings on July 30. He allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out four. Cohoon is the franchise record for innings pitched with 358.1 innings. He is ranked second in franchise history with 60 games started. He was drafted in the 12th round of the 2008 draft by the Mets out of North Central Texas College.

HARRISBURG PITCHERS:

G1: LHP Eliecer Navarro makes his 10th start of the season for the Curve, and his second consecutive against Bingahmton. On August 1, he threw seven innings and allowed one run in a no-decision. On the road this season, Navarro is 2-2 with a 4.05 ERA in four starts. In 51.0 innings in 2013, opponents are hitting .235 against him.

G2: LHP Zack Dodson makes his first start of the season for the Curve. He was recently called up from Bradenton (High-A) where he was 4-8 with a 5.05 ERA in 17 games. In 87.1 innings pitched, he struck out 39 hitters. Opponents hit .275 against him in the Florida State League. The Pirates drafted Dodson in the fourth round of the 2009 draft out of HS.

70TH WIN: The B-Mets are the first team in the Eastern League to reach the 70-win mark. 114 games are the fewest games it has taken the Binghamton Mets to reach 70 wins in franchise history. The previous best was in 1994, when it took the team 118 games to get their 70th win.

HIGH WATER MARK: Sunday’s victory put the B-Mets at 27 games over .500, which matches the high water mark in their 22-year franchise history. The B-Mets were also 27 over .500 on September 1, 2000 when the team was 82-55. In that season, Binghamton lost to New Britain in the first round of the postseason.

INTO THE HISTORY BOOKS: Jeff Walters earned his 32nd save of the season on Saturday against Harrisburg, adding to his franchise record for most saves in a single season. He passed the record held by Jerrod Riggan, who recorded 28 saves in the 2000 season.  The most career saves in Binghamton history is 36, set by Tim Lavigne. Walters is four shy of the record, with 29 games in the regular season left.

TRYING TO FIND THE BATS: Over their last 11 games, Binghamton is hitting .199 (65-for-326) as a team. They are 6-5 during that stretch, and have been held to five hits or fewer in six of those 11 games. They are hitting .198 (17-86) with runners in scoring position during that time.

HOMERLESS DROUGHT: As a team, Binghamton has only hit five home runs in their last 16 games. On the season, the B-Mets rank third in the league with 94 round trippers. Allan Dykstra is tied for second in the league with 18 home runs.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets continue their four-game series against Altoona on Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets will send RHP Erik Goeddel to the mound against RHP Casey Sadler for Altoona. First pitch is set for 6:35 PM.
