Please note the following transactions involving the Binghamton Mets.

July 17:
  • RHP Cory Mazzoni transferred from Binghamton (AA) to Las Vegas (AAA)
  • LHP Angel Cuan placed on disabled list (left shin contusion)
  • RHP Tyler Pill transferred from Las Vegas (AAA) to Binghamton (AA)
  • RHP Matt Bowman transferred from Las Vegas (AAA) to Binghamton (AA)

Interesting to see Bowman and Mazzoni swapped. One has a future as a major league starter and it isn't Mazzoni.

stupid

and they keep Alvarado in the rotation

you can't keep putting pitchers on airplanes... they need consistency

Plus, Bowman was just fine in his brief time in Vegas. Not like he got torched three times out. Bowman absolutely has a future as a starter. It's so backwards to do a move like this.

Alvarado needs to ride off into. The sunset. Take Chris Young with him, Bring back Bowman.

If I were to do the most puzzling placement list for the minors, it would be:

1.) Bowman in/getting moved back to Double-A
2.) Conforto in Brooklyn
3.) Akeel Morris in low-A
4.) den Dekker in Vegas but Kirk in NY

Anything else I'm missing? I still think Cecchini shouldn't have been promoted and he's struggling a lot in St. Lucie but I can understand that move a bit better. I just don't think he's a great player.

Hasn't Kirk been fine in NY this time around? Anyway, I wonder why the Mets are carrying six OF.

Regarding the other moves, it seems to me that this Mets front office is doing a great job of developing young talent, so why quibble with these roster moves?

These moves are good ones... ONLY... if the Mets determined that both Pill and Bowman can develop better by being out of that G.D. desert.
