PUELLO GETS A HIT! HE PLAYS!

Jairo Perez with homer # 4? Nice. Really too bad he missed 2 months injured in 2014.

Socolovich pitching well - wonder if he somehow gets to pitch for the Mets here and there during 2015. 6 innings, 3 hits, run, 10 Ks in off season ball, after 68 K's in 59 innings in Vegas. Would seem to be a useful arm.

Don't get too excited Tom....Puello actually DID NOT start in that game. He came on as a injury replacement in the top of the 3rd for Wilkin Ramirez.

Chris, really puzzling to me how Cory Vaughn has a miserable 2014 and is playing a lot now, and Puello had an uneven 2014 and is not.

Let's hope for Puello, it is his Wally Pipp moment.

@Tom

Well, remember, these Winter Leagues ARE NOT developmental leagues like the Arizona Fall League is.

These teams are trying to win as many games as possible to get a shot at the Carribbean World Series.

That said...the Mexican Pacific League has far less MLB affliated talent then the VWL or the DWL.

That means Cory Vaughn is competing with fewer guys for ABs whereas Puello is 1 of 7 AAA and AA guys on the Toros del Este roster.

So Cesar has to take advantage of his relatively few chances this fall. His 2 for 13 so far does not fit the description of "taking advantage".

@Tom

Exactly....and right now I think he's in a 3 way rotation for starts in RF.

The injury to Wilkin Ramirez should help him a bit if it's significant.
