The following players have been added to the Mets 40 man roster thus protecting them from the Rule 5 draft.
- RHSP Noah Syndergaard
- RHSP Cory Mazzoni
- RHRP Hansel Robles
- RHCL Akeel Morris
- LHRP Jack Leathersich
- RHSP Gabriel Ynoa
In order to make room on the roster for these additions, RHRP Jeff Walters has been removed from the 40 man roster. He has passed through waivers and has been assigned to AAA Las Vegas.

I can't see anything on my phone, are there names listed? I only see bullets but no names. Who got DFAed?
the list hasn't been released yet... this is just the template and Chris will add the names as soon as thet come out.
It's all about the pitching...
Pretty much what I expected. Roster full so no drafting. That's OK...I think.
No Puello, it appears?
Puello is on... you mean no as in not DFA'd?
@Tom
Puello has been on the 40 man roster for the past 3 years.
Did not realize that about Puello and probaly should have. Thx, Chris
Shocked Verret left off and Robles back on. That, to me, is just crazy.
Also Mack, kudos.
I remember you talking up Akeel Morris over 4 years ago which is four whole years before anyone else ever did. Just like deGrom, you deserve some credit for catching this kid early.
I know he hasn't been above low A yet, but this is a huge step in his career. It's moving time for him now.
Thank you, Charles
I am surpprised by Verrett's exclusion as well. He seems more maor leage ready than Robles. Could Robles have been protected because he was so effective out of the pen this year? I have a feeling that Verrett is a goner. I wonder now, whether Gorski might get picked up by some team looking for a LH reliever.
Robles is in the middle of converting to a reliever and he basically went lights out in the last month of the season (plus in winter ball).
Has the potential of becoming another member of the ever growing Latin power pen.
As for Verrett and Gorski... this is why it's not called the 42-man
I'd be shocked if no team snatches up Verrett; he seems reasonably capable of being a #5 major league starter at this point.
Gorski has had his high points and low points, but might go to a team strapped for lefties
