St. Lucie 6 - Palm Beach 3

The St. Lucie Mets rallied for five runs in the top of the ninth to beat the Palm Beach Cardinals 6-3 on Sunday at Roger Dean Stadium.

Through the first eight innings the Mets only had one hit and trailed 3-1, but they tagged reliever Ross Vance in the ninth. A hit by Peter Alonso pushed across Dale Burdick to make it 3-2. Two batters later Jhoan Urena ripped a game-tying single. It was the third straight game Urena belted a tying hit in the sixth inning or later.

Nick Sergakis put the Mets ahead with a RBI double. Jeff Diehl and Enmanuel Zabala added run-scoring singles to pad the lead.

Justin Brantley pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth to keep the Mets in it and earn the win. Alex Palsha tossed a scoreless ninth for his first save.

Mets starter Nabil Crismatt retired the first nine batters he faced. He ended up pitching six innings, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned).

Cardinals starter Ryan Helsely held the Mets hitless over five innings. He walked one and struck out six in a no-decision.

The Mets rebounded to split the series 2-2 after dropping the first two games of the season at home.

The Mets (2-2) host the Bradenton Marauders (4-0) for the start of a three-game series at First Data Field on Monday. First pitch is 6:30 p.m. - Press Release
