20. Bryce Eldridge, RHP/1B, James Madison HS (WA) – Eldridge’s future is likely on the mound, but the real power and advanced approach at the plate is too good to discount him as a two-way prospect, although the long levers and big hacks lead to plenty of swing and miss. 

On the mound, the 6’7” righty has a well controlled body and 3/4 delivery that has easy velo and solid extension although there is some late head effort. The fastball sits 92-94 with some tail to go with a horizontal movement that has flashed plenty of depth. 

The curve is inconsistent, looking unpolished in some outings, but works as the go-to offering when the fastball command is off, which isn’t often. The change sits in the low 80s with late fade giving him four legit pitches.

Eldridge possesses some of the biggest power in the class from the left side and has shown impressive feel to hit with an understanding for his long levers, listed at 6-foot-7. Not to mention, he's one of the premier pitching prospects in the class.

36. Los Angeles Dodgers

Bryce Eldridge, 1B/OF/RHP 

Eldridge made a big impression this summer both on the mound and at the plate. He’s been up to 97 with a big breaking ball, whilst also showcasing some of the best raw power in the class at the plate. 

There’s some swing-and-miss in his game, but there’s so much to like here, it’s hard to imagine Eldridge not finding his way at the next level. The Dodgers will almost certainly maximize what he’s capable of.

First Base: Bryce Eldridge, James Madison HS (Vienna, Va.) 

Eldridge has massive size at a listed 6-foot-7, 222 pounds but also has really good body control and soft hands at first base. He takes good angles to the bag and can adjust his lead foot when stretching. Eldridge is one of the top two-way players in the class and has clear smooth athletic skill around the bag.

Earning MVP at the World Cup for Team USA was two-way prospect, RHP/1B Bryce Eldridge (Madison HS, VA). The 6-foot-7, 220-pounder was long thought to be an arm in the eyes of professional scouts, and still may be given the electric upside, but it was his bat that was put on display in Sarasota throughout the tournament. 

The Alabama recruit has long exhibited a sweet stroke with effortless lift, but the outputs throughout the tournament were eye-opening including one home run that cleared the batter’s eye in center field. 

Tall, long-limbed hitters have historically been riskier options due to their difficult movement patterns, but given some recent successes from similar collegiate and professional body types, some professional clubs could see significant value in a market inadequacy.

25. Atlanta Braves | Bryce Eldridge, 1B/RHP, James Madison HS (Va.) 

Atlanta goes pure upside here nearing the end of the first round. Eldridge has some of the better two-way ability, up to 94-95 mph with heavy sink on the bump. But it’s the bat that can garner interest at this spot with a big left-handed swing that hits for power. 

He’s all of 6-foot-7, 225 pounds on both sides and began using his strength and length more at the plate and tapped into his immense power upside. If he shows more consistency in the hit tool this spring, Eldridge can get some easy first round buzz. -IB

It's hard to not instantly think of the word projection when looking at Bryce Eldridge. Long levered 6-foot-7-inch frame with advanced body control and legit two-way upside, Eldridge's future is likely on the mound. Four pitch mix with a fastball already living in the low/mid 90s with heavy sink and even more velocity coming. 

Two breaking balls with the slider looking to be a swing and miss pitch with good feel for spin on both. Eldridge's best secondary is likely the changeup that shows plus potential with late tumble and good velo separation in the low 80s. Some believe Eldridge could be a bat at the next level with plus raw power, maybe more, and a track record of hitting in big games during his prep career.

Eldridge is a legot 2-way player with a 95+ heater and can power like Pete Alonzo, He’s not the best corner outfielder defensively, but he is a powerfuk candidate for a future DH position on the Mets, or to replace Alonzo if he moves on some day.
