Johan, Cammy, Halladay... and the folly out on Willet's Point

Johan Santana:

Santana never pitched for the Astros in the majors, moving on to the Minnesota Twins and now the Mets, becoming one of the best pitchers in baseball. He lives in Florida in the off-season, but late every year, he returns to Tovar, bearing gifts by the truckload.

He organizes the Cy Youngazo, or the Great Cy Young, where he hands out Christmas presents to children and organizes local soccer and baseball tournaments. Through his foundation, he pursues his dream of someday building a baseball stadium in Tovar specifically for children.

During this year’s event, young boys stood slack-jawed and old men whistled their appreciation as he walked by. He was continually stopped by people either asking for autographs or just wanting to shake his hand. - nytimes

boy... this really was the last great thing to come out of the Mets office...

-Mike Cameron:

Heard this: The Red Sox are one of the teams pursuing Mike Cameron - Buster

-as I have said in the past, this is the perfect kind of player the Mets need in 2010... if...  they trylu want to create a 3-5 year plan. Cammey can hold down left fied (with Pagan behind him) until Fernando Martinez figures out how to skip and chew gum at the same time without creating an injury...

Roy Halladay -

3-way trade agreed to with halladay going to phils, cliff lee to mariners. phils trying to lock up roy now -
Jon Heyman

-this is what I said earlier... top players WANT to win a championship and there's a shorter road if you play for a top team...  no top star wants anything to do with what's going on right now out on Willet's Point... and they won't until the front office starts over ...
