Drafted in the first round (14th overall) by Toronto in 2002.

Has played 508 games at SS, 235 games at 2B, 76 games in the OF, 1 game at 1B, and 22 at 3B.

As a senior was conference player of the year, hitting .498... Was a two-time All-Conference and All-State selection as both a golfer and quarterback... Led the conference in passing yards as a junior and senior... Was an honour roll student and was named as a Pepsi Scholar Athlete... Attended University of North Carolina... First team All-ACC second baseman in 2001... Co-captain as a senior... Batted .344 with eight home runs, 115 RBI and 97 walks in 170 career games... Named top professional prospect of the Cape Cod League and theMVPthe Cape Cod League All-Star game in 2001.

Flaws: His arm is his weakest defensive tool. At the plate, his power is mediocre and he has trouble hitting southpaws.

Career potential: Utility man.
